Drunkard Finds Jesus

Pratul Tanka was surrounded with people who loved Jesus—his wife, Seema, and his parents. He claimed to follow a traditional religion in his state of Assam, India, but all Pratul really loved was alcohol.
Several year ago, Pratul's parents discovered the saving love of Jesus and began faithfully following Christ. Although Pratul witnessed the positive transformation in their lives, he refused to give up his old habits.
Even when Seema decided to receive Jesus, Pratul was not moved. When Pratul was drunk, he'd mercilessly beat Seema and their children. Although Seema was going through great heartache and pain, she patiently demonstrated Jesus' love to her husband.
Growing in her new faith, Seema began attending the church where Gospel for Asia missionary Tarun Subrata serves as pastor. But Pratul would even go to the church and pull Seema out of services in an attempt to keep her from worshipping the Savior. He also caused trouble for Tarun and the believers.
Then one day, Pratul came down with a terrible sickness. His illness progressed over many months, and his old religion and alcohol couldn't help.
Despite Pratul's previous behavior toward the Christians, Seema, Tarun and the believers in their church cried out to God on his behalf. Soon, Pratul began feeling better, and in a few days he was completely healed.
When Pratul saw the power of Jesus through the church's prayers, he decided to give his life to Christ. No longer a slave to a false religion and alcohol, Pratul joyfully goes to worship the Savior with Seema every Sunday.
Tarun asks for prayer that Pratul and Seema will continue to deepen their faith in Christ. He also requests prayer that Pratul's testimony will resonate with other nonbelievers and that many will come to know Jesus.
