Church Receives Threats in Karnataka

On November 21, a police official came and threatened Gospel for Asia missionary Victor in Karnataka, India, demanding he close down the church he leads and stop all local prayer meetings. Victor told GFA field leader Santosh, who appealed to police authorities, seeking permission for church services to be held in the area without interference.

The tension started in September when authorities would not allow a neighboring church to have a building. This caused the pastor to question why the GFA missionary could have a building for the church he serves.

It is now difficult to conduct the church services, and Victor and the believers are going through a challenging time.

  • Please pray for GFA field leader Santosh, that God will grant him much wisdom in handling this difficult situation.
  • Pray that the police authorities will be touched with Christ's love and experience a change of heart.
  • Pray for Victor, the local GFA missionary who was threatened, for boldness and love in the face of present opposition.
  • Pray that rather than being shaken in their faith, the believers will only grow stronger in Jesus and rally together during this difficult time.
